A little about me

I suppose you could call me a “career student”. I’m not sure if I’m just afraid to go out into the big scary world or if I’m truly obsessed with school. I received my BS in Psychology with a concentration in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After graduating, I gathered certifications and training in fitness modalities and nutritional concepts (NASM CPT, APEX and a few others). Itching to get back into the classroom, I made my way to the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, MN. I completed my MA in Holistic Health Studies at St. Kate’s and had many transformative experiences as I struggled through my own personal understanding and application of wellness. It’s definitely a journey… I continued to collect certifications in complementary modalities that interested me during this time (Healing Touch III, Reiki II, RYT 200). I also completed some significant research in the fields of spirituality, depression, suicide and arthritis. During my graduate school years, I slowly began growing my own wellness consulting business. However, after graduation, academic withdrawal hit me once again. Thankfully, I’ll get my fix in September when I begin a new chapter of my life at the University of Minnesota.

This blog stems from my passion, education, struggles and successes in everything wellness. I love to ponder all of the perspectives and theories and then share the goodies (goodies in my opinion- feel free to disagree). I hope that you find the goodies helpful.

Enjoy the journey,

Aimee
