I absolutely love this video:
What a wonderful reminder to be present in each moment, seek happiness and to passionately live out our dreams. The voice in the video is Alan Watts, a philosopher and expert in Eastern philosophies. Here’s his website, check it out, he was a fascinating man.
Here is one of Watt’s short writings that I love:
On FAITH
Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don’t grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float. And the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging to belief, of holding on. In other words, a person who is fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the nature of God and the universe, becomes a person who has no faith at all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be.
I believe Watt’s messages are important, especially during the difficult financial times. His words suggest that we accept the impermanence of life so that we can discover a foundation that is even stronger. It is this constant pining, anxiousness, worry and chronic dissatisfaction that can destroy the health of our physical body.
Watts reminds us that we CAN create our own symphony. We CAN create our own health and happiness.
What messages do you think are at the core of Watt’s words?
Create a beautiful weekend
