Adventures with Purpose and Eco Tourism

I love this show… Richard Bangs’ Adventures with Purpose. It’s a show that inspires and teaches- and as a bonus, it’s entertaining. Here’s what PBS says about it:

A show that combines adventure with travel that makes a difference, travel that positively impacts the world. Join our host, Richard Bangs, the father of modern adventure travel as he journeys across the planet in search of ecological challenges and ecological solutions. Leader of 35 first descents of rivers around the globe, a mountain climber and renowned author-Richard brings a lifetime of experience to Adventures with Purpose.

The show provides more information on eco tourism; what it’s all about, how to do it and how rewarding and exciting it really is.

Hubby and I are planning our overdue honeymoon with eco tourism in mind. The planning process is awesome- we’re choosing destinations and activities that support local people, the earth and our own spirit.

Other resources that we’re using to help plan our honeymoon:

Play it Forward Adventures

Matador (i.e. info in Brave New Traveler

I had a friend who went here and said it was amazing. The best fruit she has ever ate. The plane ticket was alot, but other that she hardly spent any money. Check it out!

  • Laura,

Wow, it looks absolutely AMAZING. The stay is cheap- can’t beat $40 per night! The open yoga room looks amazing. I would love to practice in there early in the morning. I’m curious what other options are not too far away. It would be cool to stay here for a week and then keep traveling… Thanks so much for sharing it!

  • Just returned from the Yoga Farm amd it was GREAT! Sleeping on the open Yoga deck in the middle of the jungle was quite an experience. Then doin’ Yoga in the morning with an excellent instructor, great veg food every day, after 10 days being there I felt like nearly reborn…One of the best places I’ve ever been!!!
